Launching the Core Leadership Lab: A New Kind of Leadership Membership

It’s no wonder burnout and stress-related health issues are at an all time high (Forbes). 

I’m here to tell you that there is another way to live and lead. It doesn’t require endless sacrifices, overworking and saying “yes” to every demand. You don’t have to be in every meeting, make every decision or give up your vacation days just to keep the team afloat.

In fact, you’ll find it’s quite the opposite.

This is our “why” behind creating the Core Leadership Lab. For the past few months, we’ve been running a private pilot group behind the scenes—and now we’re thrilled to finally open it up to the public.

It’s a membership designed for leaders who are tired of carrying it all alone, who want to build confidence, sharpen their leadership edge, and find a way to thrive—not just survive—in today’s high-stakes environment.

My Story: How Coaching Saved My Leadership

I wasn’t born knowing how to lead—I learned the hard way.

In the early years of managing teams, I felt like I was failing more than I was leading. I went from being a high-performing individual contributor to a stressed-out manager who couldn’t seem to get it right. My team was frustrated, I was exhausted, and I became the bottleneck for everything. My to-do list never ended and I feared I’d never be able to take a vacation without things falling apart.

The turning point came in 2016, when I witnessed an executive coaching demonstration for the first time. For 45 minutes, I watched, mesmerized, as a coach helped a leader to untangle a very thorny problem without giving a single piece of advice. Rather, she used powerful questions to challenge the leader’s thinking and to find conviction in the right path forward. My jaw practically hit the floor. This was the leadership skill I’d been missing!

I dove in headfirst—practicing coaching skills with my teams, working with my own coach, and eventually earning a certification from the International Coaching Federation (ICF). And here’s what changed: I stopped providing direction and started providing intent. I listened more, asked better questions, and invited my teams to think and act like leaders themselves.

The results were transformational. My teams gained confidence, proposed bold new ideas, and solved problems without me needing to step in. They grew into leaders in their own right, which finally freed me to focus on strategy, innovation, and the big picture. For the first time, I could step away—yes, even take a vacation—knowing my team would thrive without me.

Coaching didn’t just save my sanity—it reshaped my leadership. And it’s why I started Worthy to Lead: to help other leaders discover the same freedom, confidence, and clarity.

Why the Core Leadership Lab?
